A sales recruiter is your opportunity to communicate why you are the best candidate for the job. To do this, you need to show off your best traits. You need to put your best foot forward and make sure you give the interviewer the opportunity to see you at your very best.

It’s no secret there are some traits that most hiring companies are looking for in candidates. There are a handful of traits that, when a candidate possesses them, indicate the potential to be a great employee.

Traits You Should Show Off in Your Next Sales Interview

The top traits you need to show off will not surprise you. There are certain things companies look for in all candidates. Here are the top traits to make sure you show off to hiring managers during your next sales job interview:

1. Leadership

Companies are always looking for employees who could eventually move into a leadership role. Show companies how you are a leader by using examples of how you took a leadership role in your previous positions.

2. Integrity

Companies want people who take accountability. They want people who will take the blame and share the successes with others. People make mistakes all the time, but it’s how you react and overcome these mistakes that make all the difference. Tell the interviewer about a time when you failed and what you did to overcome the situation and make it right.

3. Coachability

Regardless of how much experience you have, taking on a new role is a learning curve. You’ll have to learn new processes and protocols. Companies want to hire people who are coachable and have a desire to learn and grow. Be open with the interviewer about areas where you may lack skills, but also explain what you are doing to overcome it.

4. A Positive Attitude

People want to work with others who have a positive attitude. Companies want to hire employees who will fit in and be well liked by the team. Communicate how you maintain a positive attitude in the workplace and use references who will support your claims.
