Texting has become one of the most popular and convenient forms of communication. It’s increasingly being used for business and sales as a way to connect with and stay in touch with customers and prospects.

Texting is being proven to be an effective way to help you sell. Everyone uses text messaging, and it provides you with instant and direct access to prospects.

Ways to Use Texting for Sales Prospecting

Are you using texting as part of your sales strategy? If not, you should seriously consider it. Our sales recruiters have put together a number of effective ways you can use texting for sales prospecting:

1. To create a personal connection:

What better way to establish personal rapport with a prospect then text? You can use text as an open line of communication. Tell prospects they can text you any time with questions about products and services. This shows you are trying to meet their needs on an individual level.

2. To stay top of mind:

Using texting is a great way to stay connected to prospects. When you are top of mind, you are more likely to get the sale. Use it to send prospects interesting articles or information that they might find useful.

3. To engage:

Texting can be used to send a quick message to engage the prospect. You can ask them if they have any questions about your previous call, your products and services, or anything else discussed.

4. Follow-ups:

It’s always important to follow up with your prospects. Texting allows you to take a more direct communication approach when following up. Use text to ask prospects if they had a chance to review details you sent. You can also use text as a friendly nudge if they have not responded to emails or calls.

5. Confirm details:

Text messaging is a great tool to confirm details and send reminders. For example, if you have an in-person meeting, use text to confirm the location or provide parking instructions.

If you are not using text to connect with sales prospects, seriously consider it. There is value to communicating in this manner.
