Top 10 Questions Sales Headhunters Ask

Are you preparing for a sales job interview with a recruiter? To help you prepare, here are the Top 10 Questions Sales Headhunters Ask

Rhys Metler

Job interviews can be intimidating and nerve wracking. You want to make a great impression, communicate why you are a great candidate for the position and provide thorough answers to the questions you are asked.

The difficult part is that you don’t know what you are going to be asked, and trying to find a good balance between answering the question and communicating enough information about yourself can be difficult. This is why it’s so important to do your homework, prepare for every job interview as if it’s a test, and think about the questions you could be asked by the interviewer.

Then there is the question of who is interviewing you. Being interviewed by a hiring manager, panel or a sales headhunter will have an impact on the type of questions being asked – meaning this is something you need to factor into your preparation.

In most interviews, you will be asked a mix of questions about your job history, sales skills and sales style, questions to understand your personality, best practices/situational questions, and there may even be an odd ball question or two.

To help you prep for your next sales job interview, we’ve put together a list of the most common questions you can expect to be asked by a sales headhunter.

Common Job Interview Questions Asked by Sales Headhunters:

1. How do you prospect? What is your best strategy for finding leads?

2. What do you like most about sales?

3. Which CRM systems do you have experience with? Which do you like best?

4. What is your biggest source of motivation?

5. What is your close ratio?

6. Tell us about a time when you won over a tough customer. How do you handle tough customers?

7. Which book(s) are you reading now? Which sales book would you recommend to other sales professionals?

8. Which type of sales environment do you prefer? Which type of sales are you best at?

9. What are your career goals? Where you do want to be in 5 years?

10. Sell me on product

These are only a sample of the questions you could be asked, so it’s best to spend some time trying to answer as many sales related job interview questions as possible.
