Strong Job Numbers in the US

SalesForce Search Sales blog: The US economy created 222000 private sector jobs in February, the highest since March of 2006

We witnessed one of the strongest US employment gains in over 5 years on Friday, raising the hope for the Canadian employment numbers due out on Friday.

There is a strong relationship between the strength of the US economy and Canadian exports to the US so this news is great both north and south of the border.

The US economy created 222000 private sector jobs in February, the highest since March of 2006. This coming Friday, economists are expecting Canada to add 22000 jobs compared with 69000 created in January.

From our perspective, the numbers moving forward look good. We are busier than we’ve ever been working on close to 400 new sales jobs for our clients. We are seeing candidates get 3 and 4 offers at the same time and we are advising our clients to act fast on good candidates.

For candidates we are advising them to really focus their search and concentrate on the opportunities and companies that are really appealing to them. Over the past few years, finding the right sales job took up to 6 months making it a client market. That has shifted in a dramatic way and it is now a candidate’s market so make sure you pick the right sales job, not the first one.
